Pilates exercises are a form of dynamic strengthening exercises for the deep postural muscles. They can correct muscle imbalance, stabilise joints and improve skeletal alignment thus improving your posture, strength and flexibility, making your movements more efficient.
The traditional Joseph Pilates exercises have been modified significantly over the years to emphasis strengthening of the deep core muscles to aid the rehabilitation of many musculoskeletal and neurological conditions and are practised by thousands of people worldwide to great benefit.
If you have a musculoskeletal condition a physiotherapy assessment would be completed prior to starting any Pilates exercises to assess suitability of exercises.
